His early experience with organizations such as the National Centre for Advocacy Studies, Disha (Deshabandhu Club), and the German Leprosy and TB Relief Association (GLRA India) helped him develop a deep understanding of disability, leprosy, gender, and child rights issues in India. His later work with The Hummingbird Foundation, supported by British partners, allowed him to strengthen community-based action to prevent human trafficking and enhance child protection networks in West Bengal.
