Aishath Hassan has bagged Asia's Women Personality Award


Ms. Aishath Hassan, a PhD Candidate in Educational Policy at the Maldives National University, Maldives has always been a true believer that change always begins in oneself. She has always aimed to inspire her students and everyone around her, especially the women and girls. A true women empowerment champion, she has worked tirelessly to open up opportunities for women and girls in the society. 

She is one of the pioneering leaders in the education sector of the Maldives, since she joined as a substitute teacher, back in the year 2006. Since then, it has always been her way up the ladder of success, with relentless effort and perseverance. She has also been honoured with the Merit Award in Education at the first ever ‘Professional and Career Women Awards 2018’ given by the Women In Maldives. She is also a Global Youth Peace Ambassador and a Youth Advocate. 

Ms. Aishath Hassan has achieved “Asia’s Women Personality Award”, “Asia’s Outstanding Volunteer Award”, “Asia’s Outstanding Educationist Award” and “Asia’s Excellence Award in Education” bagged by Asia Awards, powered by RULA Awards for her outstanding contribution in being an outstanding person as a volunteer, educator and a women empowerment champion.

Right from the start, she has always been a hard worker, who knew what she wanted to achieve. Being the ambitious person that she is, she took countless risks and leaps of faith to get to where she is now. Every time she slipped a few steps back, she worked extra hard to move forward.

Having worked at various levels in the education sector, from a substitute teacher, to a trained English language teacher, to a School Principal, and now, a significant staff at the Ministry of Education, Maldives, Ms. Aisha has always maintained a very close relationship with her colleagues and students.

Ms. Aisha enjoys raising her voice for the voiceless of the society. She is a co-founder of Male’ Ravvehinge Jamiyya, which was founded to raise the concerns of the Male’ City citizens regarding social issues. Along with that, she has volunteered since 2016 in Regional Alliance for Fostering Youth (RAFY NGO) and has been a volunteer in many local crisis situations. She has also volunteered herself as the CEO of Keen Institute for Nation Development (KIND) which is run by the Enlightening a Mindful Community (EMC NGO). She enjoys poetry, language and research.
