Bitulink Emulsion (Private) Limited (BEPL) is a limited liability company, incorporated under the company’s act No.7 of 2007. It was established on 22 June 2006 in Epaladeniya, Giriulla to cater to the emerging needs in the development sector of Sri Lanka. 

BEPL has been a family-run business ever since it was founded by Mr. Mahesh Wijerathne – The Chairman / Managing Director in 2006.

 

In recent years, the company has been undergoing a restructure, so it operates like a corporate entity. BEPL grants its senior management team, the responsibility and accountability. The strength of understanding the core business coupled with strong leadership and passionate team members, has created a corporate environment where we see innovation thrive not only in product but within the entire company. This creates a huge positive energy that propels the company to perform year after year.

We specialize in the supply of bulk bitumen 60/70, bitumen 80/100, bitumen emulsions, modified bitumen emulsions and bitumen-based products. With the experience gained over the years of service to the nation, now we have acquired the knowhow to produce Polymer Modified Bitumen (PMB), Crumb Rubber Modified Bitumen (CRMB) which have been recently added to our portfolio of products. Today we are a leading player in Sri Lanka’s bituminous market which has gained a significant growth over the years enhancing its capabilities in research and development (R&D), quality of products and sales under an efficient management and the team work of the dedicated employees.

Bitulink Emulsion has acquired the latest bitumen emulsion production equipment from the UK and technical knowhow from Akzo Nobel, Sweden; Humboldt, Kraton from USA; Dynasol Group Spain, Nayler chemicals from UK in its drive to provide unparalleled service to the nation. Well equipped with a state-of-the-art laboratory, our continuous research and development initiatives include environmental impact assessment and development of new products in an environmentally friendly manner, apart from the continuous quality assurance mechanisms to ensure the high-quality standards of products that reach the market. In order to advance our quality with latest international standards ISO 9001, ISO 14001, we are facilitated with the newly installed well equipped laboratory and professionals who are capable of testing the entire range of products manufactured in the companies’ production facility. Furthermore, quality is validated through regular testing at the research and development laboratory, Road Development Authority (RDA) and accredited international laboratories.

Bitulink Emulsion (Pvt) Ltd has evaluated its option in selecting the perfect raw material supplier with regard to supplying and identified two main options locally and overseas suppliers who have proven and trusted history in terms of supply and quality.

The products were tested in international and local laboratories and confirmed for its quality. The main reason behind this proactive approach is that we have identified the future of the bitumen industry.

With the company growth over the years and foreseeing the future, BEPL’ founding Chairman Mr Mahesh Wijerathne under his visionary leadership expanded its wings into a diversified business model and established many SBUs as follows.
