Dr. Mohd Hairul Nizam Bin Md Nasir is the
founder, board of directors and Chief Executive Officer of Al Amin Darul
Musthopha Sdn Bhd (AADMSB). He obtained his PhD in Computer Science from
Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He has been regarded as an esteemed academician,
technopreneur, eduprenuer with over 20 years of experience in the education and
information technology industry.
With his background as an academician and
technopreneur, he foresees that digital literacy is a foundational skill not an
optional anymore since all current and future careers and job demands computing
and digital skills. There is a huge opportunity for primary schools and
kindergartens to empower and inspire children with computing and technology
from an earlier age. With this belief, he started to introduce the
International Digital Literacy syllabus to primary school standard 1 (7-years
old) to give early exposure to digital skills. As a result, Al-Amin Darul
Musthofa school is the first primary school in Malaysia to collaborate with
ICDL Asia to offer International Digital Skills certification to students in the
year 2021.
Dr. Hairul is passionate about creating a teaching
and learning atmosphere that is dynamic and continuously seeking excellence to
meet the needs of the present as well as the future. He is the one responsible
stewarded Al Amin Darul Musthofa’s jump into full adoption of the 21st-century
education approach. He is someone who strongly believed that every student has
the right to be nurtured in his or her own unique talents and that primary
education should give students the skills that they need to succeed in this new
world and help them grow the confidence to practice those skills. With so much
information readily available to them, 21st-century skills focus more on making
sense of that information, sharing and using it in emotionally safe and smart
ways.
With his vast experience in IT industry, he successfully
designed, developed and deployed an integrated asynchronous e-learning platform
known as Virtual Musthofa within 3 months to be used as an e-learning platform
for school and kindergarden during Covid-19. The introduction of this eLearning
platform has been convenient for students as well as teachers. As a
result, the learning process continued as usual and most of the parents still
continue to maintain to enroll their children.
Dr. Hairul also managed to accelerate Al-Amin Darul Musthofa’s teaching innovation and working culture by focusing on four pillars i.e., Strengthen Governance and Business Model, Embrace Change and Transform Culture, Reimagine Education, and Improving Learning and Work Environment.
