Mr.Durga Bahadur Pun has bagged Asia’s Best Social Activist Award of the year 2020-21 conferred by Asia Awards proudly presented by RULA Awards. The greatest sign of success for ASIA award and RULA award to nominate as a best social Activist of this year, 2020-21. 

Mr. Pun has been directly involved in various NGOs and social organizations since 2005, and has been conducting various activities in the social sectors. Involving in various organizations, Mr. Pun has led various projects in the districts like Salyan, Dang, Rolpa and Dailekh which are almost known as remote and undeveloped places.

He is playing the role of executive director in Dalit Development Society (DDS), Mr. Pun has been able to mobilize hundreds of staffs and reach out to thousands of target group. He has successfully led more than 30 projects at the community level in collaboration with various government and non government organization. He has excellent experiences in the fields of education, health, WASH and nitration, livelihood, forest and environment, peace, good governance and human rights targeting Dalits, women, children, poor and conflict victims in the rural communities. 

Mr. Pun has been in the role of vice president of Nepal Bar association, Salyan and has been providing legal services to the poor, marginalized and helpless people by advocating volunteerism. Similarly, he has perfectly led the advocacy social campaign in the district.

Mr. Pun has been the chairman of the School Management Committee of Jiwan Jyoti Secondary School, Kapurkot -Rim Salyan and was able to bring change in the quality of education which finally led the school to receive the tittle as a model School of Salyan district by the Nepal Government.

As the chairperson of NGO federation of Nepal, Salyan Branch, Mr.Pun has created a conductive  environment for conducting programme at the village level by coordinating with the agitating parties  and various NGOs /INGOs even during the armed conflict- period. As a member of District Peace Committee of Salyan, Mr. Pun has been involved in providing support for the establishment of sustainable development and lasting peace. Dedicated to humanitarian service, Mr. Pun has been working in various humanitarian field as a member of the Salyan, branch of the Nepal Red Cross -Society.

Mr. Pun is visionary, leading, committed, positive, motivated leader with amazing potential, Proactive and responsible, has contributed to the success of the entire duties that has been given to him by organization. He is a dynamic leader to strongly direct the organization and coordination with line agencies and stakeholders. He has good interpersonal skills and was effective team player. He was a good listener and quick learner as well as I found him to be very committed and dedicated towards his responsibility and bona-fide employee of the organization. His patience as well as his gentle and caring personality was appreciated by all staff, members and partners, too. I, on behalf of organization, wish him all the best for his future endeavor and success in every step of his life.

I must say that I am humbled, honored, and at the same time excited to be in your midst to receive the award of Asia’s Best Social Activist Award 2020/21. I am earnestly grateful for the recognition I have received for my work. On my way here, I have faced several challenges but each one of them has only strengthened me to make me the person I am today. Winning this award would not have been possible without the inspiration I have received from my parents and my colleagues, for whom I have the deepest respect, and from whom I have derived the strength to challenge myself and perform better at each stage.

I sincerely thank everyone for helping me reach a stage where I can proudly hold up this award as a mark of my achievement. I also promise to only get better at my work so that you can see me here for more such awards. Obviously, this award will be fruitful to motivate me for my future carrier and further social works.
