Footsteps Preschool has bagged Asia's Creative Online and Physical Preschool Award

Footsteps Preschool has gone from strength to strength since opening its doors in 2019 and is today acknowledged as one of the leading Early Years institutes in Sri Lanka.  Our success has been largely due to the confidence the Parents had in us. Commenced with 6 students and 2 teachers, the preschool stands tall today with a roll call of 175 students and 35 diverse Educators. We encourage creativity and critical-thinking alongside stimulating and inspirational learning experiences. Situated near a popular residential area, Footsteps Preschool educates children from the age of 18 months to 5 years and offers an outstanding holistic education that extends beyond the curricular. Our focus is to meet the needs of each and every one of our learners so that they are equipped with lifelong skills, ready to embrace the challenges of an ever-changing world.

The preschool continues to move with the times, embracing new approaches to learning and technology, preparing students well for the inescapable challenges of change that the 21st century will bring. This has helped to make Footsteps Preschool one of the outstanding in the country offering the EYFS curriculum, with excellent teachers. The preschool is a member of the Early Years Alliance in the UK and combines the best of educational standards and methodologies with an awareness of the local culture.

Footsteps Preschool strives for excellence in everything we do. A focus on student’s personal development promotes positive attitudes to learning. We also strongly value links with parents and work hard to develop effective home-school partnerships. This includes regular communication and times for us to meet and listen to each other as well as an exciting mix of performances, exhibitions, competitions and sporting events. What is most important in our school is a warm family atmosphere where the children feel safe, secure and happy.

Footsteps Preschool prides itself as the first Preschool in Sri Lanka to reach the globe. Online education became the ‘NEW NORM ‘as a result of the pandemic. Following these circumstances, online teaching and learning had an indispensable role in early childhood education programs.

The preschool had a studentship of one Hundred & fifty with 70% from Sri Lanka and the rest from the Far East, Asia, Middle East, Africa and Australia. Our global reach via online education reached recognition and acceptance. This was an international virtual presence for Footsteps Preschool. A well-resourced study kit was also couriered locally and internationally to ease the burden to look for supplies during the multiple lockdowns. Teaching students with hands-on exercises that spurred its creation, crafting a mandate for quality education, the preschool is formulating core values that encourage kids in laying the foundation in social conscience and becoming active and responsible citizens.
