Ibrahim Hameed is the
current head of Air Traffic Services (ATS) in Maldives. He has 31 years of
experience as a practicing Air Traffic controller. He has specialized in air
traffic management, flight procedure design and airspace planning.
Hameed joined Maldives
Airports Company Limited (MACL) in 1989 as trainee Air traffic Control Officer
(ATCOS) and rose through the ranks to become a leading member of Air Traffic
Management in Maldives.
He has developed and
compiled most of the manuals and standard operating procedures available to
provide ATS in Maldives. He has designed every instrument flight procedure
published in the Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) of Maldives since 2012.
He has participated and
untaken major development and modernization projects in ATS in Maldives. He has
been leading the implementation of Performance Based Navigation (PBN) and
Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B) in Maldives.
He has been representing
Maldives at major regional and international aviation forums for more than 10
years; and collaboratively working with regional organizations and
international bodies.
Hameed has dedicated the
knowledge and experience that he has gained over the years to serve the country
and the aviation community. He has been conducting regular classes and lectures
to share knowledge and groom his successors.
