Khim Bahadur Gurung was born in a remote village in Syangja district, Gandaki zone (currently Gandaki Province, Syangja District Waling Municipality - 3) Nepal in 1973. He spent his childhood and teenage years in the same village associating himself with traditional agriculture and animals husbandry. Just simply to gain his primary education, he had to walk on foot for a couple of hours every day to get to school and come back home.
