Lady Birds International Montessori School was established in 2015, by Ms. Anusha Hewage, who strongly believes that a child’s development is influenced by their early life. It was born in order to establish an international standard Montessori, with likes of those in the United Kingdom from where Ms. Hewage completed her University education and gained experience in the field of international education. It is proven that a young child who attends a well-organized Montessori program will gain much to benefitfor his / her future, which is well recognized and proven and as such this beautifully crafted institute was established in the suburbs of Colombo.

Our MontessoriCurriculum

The carefully developed internationally and nationally approved programs gives each student between the ages of 2.to 6 years the opportunity to realize their potential and promote a love of learning. It ensures that children are engaged, excited about learning and being challenged. The carefully designed methodology is based on scientific research and observation, offering an education beyond academics. We ensure the balance of physical, intellectual, emotional and social well-being at our school.

Every student will be encouraged to be the best they can be.

Every child is treated as special and different, as each child has special gifts they bring with them. They are carefully monitored and their special talents identified an, recorded and encouraged. They are encouraged to develop these inborne skills both individually and as a group by mixing with other children of all ages.

The curriculum is approached holistically, using all Montessori materials, facilitated by highly qualified and trained Montessori teachers. They ensure that children develop at their own pace based on their interests and strength at the different stages of development.

Observation and careful attention is placed on individual needs, and recorded to be used in professional evaluation with fellow Teacher Consultants, and Parents to nurture them to build a all rounded personality to face a better brighter future.

Having entered in to the Early Childhood education sector just over 6 years, Institution has build up a great demand in the area operates at its best. School does not only focuses on Academic , But also of extra activities and exposure which a child needs at this stage in life.

Lady Birds International Montessori School is also approved and accepted by the Pre School Unit, Education Department of Sri Lanka.

Lady Birds Montessori has been blessed with a group of dedicated, kind and caring teachers who believe in the best of Montessori. Its Branch in Ratmalana is operated with the Co- Director Sithara Fernando the Principal of the institution. They are much more than providers of routine care for children. Our teachers are highly effective, qualified and they build nurturing relationships with each student who walks through our door.

Our teachers are committed and sensitive to each child’s needs. They are an experienced staff with Montessori credentials. Before each year our educators undergo comprehensive Montessori in – house training so they are not only trained but guided to implement our curriculum to your children.

The teachers have regular guidance about their skills and use of techniques, through personal development and being a part of meetings and trainings with the head Mistress and Directress. Most importantly, our educators truly love our children and each day they inspire and guide them to be the best they can be.
