Personal Bio:

Mohamed Fayyaz, a young and an exciting Entrepreneurial prospect in the Maldives founded Nexxt Solutions Pvt Ltd along with his friends on a vision to make the country smart. He is also a founder and Managing Director of NB Group, NB Grand Hotel and Mandayz Restaurant. Currently holds a Masters in Business Administration from UWTSD also a Telecom Mini MBA. Mr. Fayyaz is also a certified Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL®) and Project Management Professional (PMP®). 

Mr. Fayyaz embarked on his professional journey at Wataniya Telecom (now Ooredoo Maldives) as a technician. With hands- on experience on IT equipment and a passion to learn, within 14 years, Mr. Fayyaz walked his way up the corporate ladder from a technician to a Manager coordinating and managing Network Operations, Network Operations Center, Technology Project Management and Enterprise Solutions Delivery at Ooredoo Maldives until his resignation.

On the vision to introduce SMART solutions and to think about the solutions for the day after tomorrow, and to become a trend setter of ICT in the Maldives, in January 2020, Nexxt solutions Pvt Ltd started their journey as a small startup company with friends who have a common goal. Our extra “X” in Next represents “day after tomorrow”. We always analyze and seek solutions on the issues that will happen in the future. 

Covid 19, pandemic being a tough time for everyone, especially small business, Nexxt Solutions faced its challenges just like others. However, with careful thinking and optimizing resources Nexxt Solutions were able to recover the losses. Lockdown gave us an edge and a clear opportunity and time for us to concentrate on doing research and explore growth opportunities. With this, we managed to acquire authorization to sell Asher (Waste management solutions) in the Maldives. As the product itself will bring a humongous environmental and economic benefit to islands in managing waste and plastic pollution, we see a great prospect in the project. 

Nexxt Solutions is a company standing by its philosophies, one major philosophy is inclusive and shared resource approach. Due to this, we manage to create a good working relationship with other SMEs, such as civil engineers, architects, civil work companies, lawyers and strategists. Baa Investment and Aisle Solutions Pvt Ltd are two companies who are now local partners jointly working with us. This gave us plenty of breathing space, leapfrogged the competition and to think and grow ourselves and specialize in doing what we are good at. This also helped us to maintain the quality of services provided to our client and partners, which enabled us a door opener in Jan 2021. 

Supporting other SMEs and working closely with our partners helped us to get more engaged in Telecom Deployments, Installations, rectifications as well as entering larger projects jointly to upscale the business. This effort helped us win projects like Supply and development of 4 telecom towers to Housing Development Corporation (HDC). At the same time, we have been awarded a GPON project by a foreign company from Lebanon (BMB Group). It was then we decided to move forward in paving our paths to success in lifting the business to new heights. 

We are a company who never look back; in the middle of 2021, we have included OmniFlow into our catalogue. As a pilot project we have invested in deploying OmniFlow (OmniLED, OmniBench) Solutions to Hulhumale’ City. We believe OmniFlow will open other gates in moving the city towards a Smart City with likes of Smart parking, Smart street lights, Environment Monitoring, EV charging, Public Wi-fi, Digital Screens as well as WI-FI Charging over the Smart bench. In addition, we have also invested in a 14 Bedroom Guest house and a restaurant in order to diversify our business. We are enabling a smart hotel platform for the first time in the Maldives, and looking forward to completing the project by the end of Jan 2021.

I am honored and humbled by this recognition and acknowledgement for being awarded Asia's best use of technology in the small business award of the year 2020/2021 for Nexxt Solutions in Asia’s Small Business Awards. After careful research, we always seek to offer the best solutions which will be the most attractive to the market. Also having been recognized by the international communities, is a great pleasure for us to engage more in enabling innovations and technological solutions in the future.
