Nilam Kumar Shrestha is a young,
vibrant, and forward-thinking leader in Nepal's education sector. He served as
the principal of one of the most prominent institutions in his nation, Sainik
Awasiya Mahavidyalaya, Dharan (Military Residential School Dharan) for six
years. He is currently serving as the principal of Bishnu Memorial Secondary
School Dharan, another prestigious academic institution. Mr. Shrestha has a
first-class M.A. in English from Tribhuvan University and an M. Ed. in
Educational Leadership and Management with a CGPA of 4.0 from Kathmandu
University. He is an M. Phil Scholar of Educational Leadership in Kathmandu
University.
With his hardworking and never
quitting attitude and amicable personality, Mr. Shrestha has achieved
remarkable heights in the academia which may be an inspiration for so many
young people who want to excel in the field of education and leadership. He has
experience of teaching the pupils from Nursery to the university students. As a
teacher for English, he has always set an example for his colleagues with his
remarkable language competency and outstanding academic achievement for which
he was awarded the best subject teacher award for three times. He was well
acknowledged and applauded for his outstanding strategic management of the
school’s scholastic and co-scholastic activities during Covid 19 pandemic. He is also a popular IELTS facilitator in the
region.
Mr. Shrestha has received and
attended several national and international trainings and workshops related to
his profession such as Professional Development, School Psychology, Action
Research, Pedagogy, Career Counseling, etc.
He has presented his papers in different national and international
conferences. He has also undertaken the responsibilities of Judges in different
regional and national level school competitions. Mr. Shrestha can be regarded
as an exemplary leader, motivator, trainer, counselor and above all a learner.
Mr. Shrestha has received the Commendation letters from the Nepali Army Eastern Divisional Headquarters and the Eastern Command Headquarters for his exceptional contribution and leadership roles in the Military Schools. Besides, he has also been awarded the ‘Best Global Principal Awards’ by International Internship University (IIU) and the ‘Asia’s Outstanding Academic Leadership Awards’ by Asia Awards powered by World Research Congress for his outstanding contribution in the academia in general and the leadership roles in education in particular in Nepal.
