Biography: A Journey of Passion, Precision, and Perseverance

 

My name is Rifka Haris Anver, and I am deeply honoured to be recognized with the Asia’s Outstanding Cake Artist Award and Asia’s Baking Excellence Award by the esteemed Asia Awards, powered by RULA Awards and the World Research Congress. This recognition is a significant milestone in my 20-year journey in the field of baking and cake artistry.

 

My journey in baking began at the age of 12. Even as a young girl, I was drawn to creativity in food – not just in taste, but in presentation. I would take the lead at family functions, arranging tables and setting up displays with a keen eye for detail. This early passion gradually evolved into a focused pursuit. I started baking cakes as a self-taught artist, driven by curiosity and a desire to explore.

 

As the years went by, I enrolled in several professional programs to refine my skills. My formal education in the culinary arts includes:

      •             Diploma in Cake Decorating

      •             Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management

      •             Postgraduate Diploma in Hospitality Management

      •             QBC Qualification

      •             Master’s in Culinary and Nutrition from SLICCA

 

These academic pursuits gave me the technical foundation and confidence to pursue excellence. I am especially grateful to my mentor and teacher, Dr. Mrs. Rushdha Najibudeen, whose guidance and support were instrumental in shaping my professional path.

 

In 2019, I officially launched my business page, @dessert_hut, marking my entry into the baking industry as a full-time entrepreneur. What started as a passion project quickly evolved into a growing business. I have since specialized in custom cakes and desserts, with a focus on high-end, intricate designs and flawless finishes. Each creation is a unique blend of art and emotion – crafted with love and purpose.

 

Over the years, I have taken part in numerous competitions – both nationally and internationally – earning recognition and several prestigious titles:

      •             Title Winner – Wedding Cake Structure 2022 (SLICCA)

      •             Rising Star Award 2022 (SLICCA)

      •             Iconic Award for Best Cake Decorator 2023 (SLICCA)

      •             Achievers Award for Best Confectionery Artist 2024 (SLICCA)

      •             Best Cake Decorator Award 2024 (conducted by Lady Life)

      •             Silver Award – Cupcakes and Mini Cakes, Cake Champions International 2022

      •             Bronze Award – Duget Flowers, Cake Champions International 2023

      •             Featured in Incredible India Cake Magazine, Wedding Cake Structure category

 

These platforms have not only enhanced my technical capabilities but also helped build resilience, creativity, and a mindset of continuous improvement. Competitions are intense and demanding, but they have shaped me into a better artist and a more confident professional.

 

Behind every achievement is a strong support system. My greatest supporter has been my husband – my backbone and constant encourager. He has stood by me through every challenge, and this recognition belongs as much to him as it does to me. I am also thankful to my family, who gave me the courage to dream big and the strength to keep going.

 

Baking is not merely a profession for me – it is my lifelong passion. I approach every order with a sincere prayer, knowing that my cakes are part of someone’s most cherished moments. Be it a birthday, engagement, or wedding, I pour love, precision, and joy into every detail. The fulfillment I get after delivering a finished cake, knowing it will light up someone’s special day, is immeasurable.

 

As I look to the future, my vision is to continue innovating, inspiring, and uplifting others in the field of baking and cake decoration. I am committed to pushing boundaries, learning continuously, and sharing my knowledge with the next generation of culinary artists.
