Sree Abiraame B. Chendren has bagged Asia's The Youngest Girls Winter Games Sports Achievement Award

Sree Abiraame B. Chendren is an exceptionally gifted young figure skater from Malaysia, whose dedication and talent have earned her a remarkable reputation in the world of winter sports at a very young age. Born on December 19, 2011, in Selangor, Malaysia, Sree currently attends Naedong Elementary School in the Republic of Korea, where she balances her academic pursuits with her passion for figure skating.

ACHIEVEMENTS

As of August 2024, Sree has amassed an impressive collection of accolades, including 75 gold medals, 10 silver medals, and 9 bronze medals in various international competitions. Her journey in figure skating began at an early age, and by the time she was just 7 years old, she had already made her mark in the Asia Book of Records (ABOR) for being the youngest athlete to win the most medals in international figure skating. Additionally, she holds two significant records in the Malaysia Book of Records (MBR): one for being the youngest female winner at the Skate Asia Figure Skating competition in 2017 and another for winning the most medals in international figure skating competitions by a female in 2019.

Sree's competitive achievements are truly noteworthy. At the age of 9, she showcased her skills on the international stage by securing first place at the Tallinn Trophy 2021 in the Category Diploma Cubs B Girls 2011 Competition in Estonia. She followed this with strong performances at the Narva Cup 2021 and the Thomas Cup 2021, where she achieved second and third places, respectively. Her success has continued to flourish, with significant victories in 2024, including first place at The 21st Busan Metropolitan Ice Rink Federation President Cup Championship and The Gimhae Open Figure Skating Trophy, both under the International Category. Additionally, she excelled at Skate Asia 2024 in Taipei Taiwan with achieved  second places, and earned a commendable third place at the South East Asia Open Figure Skating Trophy in the ISU Championship held in Manila, Philippines.

Beyond her athletic accomplishments, Sree has been recognized with prestigious awards that celebrate her dedication and contributions to sports. In 2020, she received the International Achievers Award 2020 with the title "Yuva Shri Kala Bhushan" in recognition of her outstanding achievement and dedication in the field of sports from International Yoga Federation Headquarters Mexico Cozumel. In addition, The State of Selangor Sports Council nominated candidate for the award Selangor Sports Awards for excellence in sports the “Most Promising Sportswoman Awards” 2021-2022 from State of Selangor Malaysia for her achievements in sport.

JOURNEY - GOLDEN PATH TO WINTER OLYMPICS GAMES

Sree's training journey has been both rigorous and transformative. From 2016 to 2020 she trained at Malaysia and February 2020 to December 2021, she trained at The International Figure Skating Academy in Marupes, Latvia, under the guidance of Head Coach Alexander Ryabinin from Russia. This foundational training period equipped her with essential skills and techniques that have propelled her forward in her skating career. In July 2022, Sree continued her training at Suwon Ice Rink in South Korea before joining The Team Jewels Academy at the Gimhae Arts & Sports Cultural Center, where she currently trains. Under the mentorship of several professional coaches, she has continued to refine her skills and compete at high levels.

I CAN DO IT

Looking ahead, Sree’s ultimate goal is to participate in the Winter Youth Olympic Games in 2028 and the Winter Olympic Games in 2030. Sree has the potential to shine at the Winter Olympics, bringing pride to Malaysia and the entire Indian Community in the World.

Malaysia to be recognized Worldwide as a serious competitor in the Skating Community and create an impact at the ISU CHAMPIONSHIP, WINTER YOUTH OLYMPIC GAMES, OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES and with it, a positive image for our country Malaysia.
