Suman Karki has bagged Best Social Worker Award

I have been working in the field of social work since 2002A.D.I started my work at the of 22 and now I am 43.I have finished my graduation and I even worked as a teacher for 4 years and I started working with those people who are suffering from addiction and mental illness and different people who are left behind and torn apart. It was my high desire since my childhood to help those who are helpless. Being a certified counselor I worked counselor in a drug and alcohol treatment and Rehabilitation center as a Program Coordinator and a Counselor. I am also a medical personnel as I have finished my lab works.

With a desire to work with people and their rights ,I founded a group named Protecting Human Rights-KADAM on 28th April 2013 with an objectives to support & advocate stands with victims and activists to prevent discrimination, to uphold political freedom, to protect people from inhumane conduct in wartime, and to bring offenders to justice to end abusive practices and respect which includes People who use drugs(PWUD),People Living With HIV/AIDs, Hepatitis and different blood borne disease.

Along with this at present I have been working with JEEWAN PARIWARTAN DRUG AND ALCOHOL REHABILITATION CENTER- (PROTECTING HUMAN RIGHTS-KADAM) with an objective for drug awareness, prevention, treatment and after care for both PWUDs/PLHIVs and KAPs!!!

With this, I am really honored to bag “Best Social Worker” award by Asia Awards powered by RULA AWARDS under the category “Asia’s NGO/Social Service Awards" which has really encouraged me to work more for those who are helpless and who are in need and those who are suffering from different problems with an issues of health rights, human rights. I am really feeling proud to be the part!
